Perry & Lora
Perry and Lora Sigesmund understand what it takes to run a successful furniture and design business. Both of their parents owned furniture stores. In addition, Perry had a furniture and design store in Ohio and a design firm in Upper St. Clair. It made perfect sense for them to combine their knowledge and open PerLora (Perry + Lora) 23 years ago.
They carried forward the legacy of the values and traditions they learned from working in their family businesses. They place a great deal of emphasis on quality furnishings, exceptional design and excellent customer service. Traveling all over the world to bring unique home furnishings to PerLora, their mission is to create a home furnishing store with a look, feel and smell like no other store in Pittsburgh.
Perlora Furniture Designer
My personal style in somewhere in between modern and transitional. I love nice sleek clean lines, but I love to throw a vintage rug into the mix, or a unique salvaged table. I love to blend old and new. I’ve just recently moved here from Palm Beach, and it’s a fun to bring a little sunshine to the ‘burgh!
I have a strong background in fashion and textiles, so i certainly find inspo on the runway! I love how the color of the year encompasses everything from clothing through furniture. There’s a Betsey Johnson quote that I just love – “When you are designing clothing, you really have only one point of focus, and that’s the body. But home is fabrics, and furniture, and floors, and natural light. If fashion is a planet, home is more like a universe.”
I have a laid back yet confident approach. I don’t need to pressure my clients to purchase the perfect items for their home because with the use of tools such as 3D floor plans, mood boards, and pinterest/instagram inspo, my clients know what their dream room will look like before it all even arrives! Yay technology!

My work is so creative. I love the new possibilities that each day presents. Each new project gives an opportunity to build a new relationship and explore new options for my clients. That’s what I pride myself upon… my ability to create long lasting relationships. Your designer is your trusted friend and confidant.
MORE ABOUT CRAIG
PerLora and Craig have grown up together, professionally, that is. He has enjoyed being a integral part of PerLora since its inception in 1994. Craig has a marketing degree from Columbia College in Chicago and has completed the interior design program at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. The mix of this skill set has been quite helpful in marketing his abilities, which in turn make his clients’ interiors come to life.
Over the years, Craig has volunteered his time to many philanthropic endeavors. He enjoys giving his time, as these “give back” moments make life rich and fulfilling for him. Craig has hosted and/or created events for The National Aviary of Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, Quantum Theatre, The Pittsburgh Opera, The Pittsburgh Opera Theater Company, The Persad Center and The Pittsburgh Aids Task Force.
Perlora Furniture Designer
I enjoy the clean lines of contemporary furniture with a little something unique added in. I love the live edge tables as a mix with contemporary. I love our selection of European vendors, as they have wonderful designs and excellent quality.
Nature, everything you see can inspire. I love going to our art museums and sitting in front of a Monet or a Van Gogh and even Andy Warhol to get inspired. Color, design and space planning…They are part of our everyday life. We just need to be reminded.
While working with clients, I feel my sincerity and sense of humor make my customers relax while shopping at PerLora. I am able to provide a great amount of information on the products and vendors. I get excited about the vendors, especially the European vendors.
I enjoy working with young customers and helping them get started in their new home. I’ve worked with many millennials, including a residence in LA and DC, but I also relate to my own age group. When I work with a client I don’t see age, but the space we are trying to work with and meeting the needs.
I have a proven track record with my customers. I hope that my unique style and the vendors that I enjoy working with help my customers create an environment that they will enjoy for years to come.
RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL?
I started years ago in commercial design and have had the opportunity, while working at Perlora, to do some commercial projects, including a judge’s chamber. They are quite fun, but I enjoy the creativity of residential design.
THOUGHTS ON REALITY DESIGN TV SHOWS
I don’t watch them so I can’t say. I have to be honest.

PerLora Leather Designer
My personal style would be described as mid-century modern, and Scandinavian influenced. I love a clean, harmonious space with a touch of the unexpected. I also love the juxtaposition of contemporary pieces with vintage, antique, or heirloom pieces.
I find inspiration almost everywhere. I really enjoy art and architectural history. I can find inspiration from a painting, a sculpture, or a historic exterior/interior. I also find that nature provides the best inspiration for color schemes.
I am a strong believer in the ability of great design transforming lives. I have witnessed this first hand in my previous job and it always amazed me. There is nothing more exciting for me than working closely with a client to make their design dreams come true.
RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL?
My career started in commercial design and while I do enjoy it, residential design is far more enjoyable because of the ability to be more creative.
MORE ABOUT HAYLEY
Hayley was raised just outside of Pittsburgh in the North Hills. She recently moved back after living in Seattle for 10 years. While living in Seattle, Hayley earned her degree in interior design from CIDA accredited Bellevue College. Outside of her career as a designer, Hayley enjoys traveling, visiting museums, live music, art shows, and photography.
My personal design style can be described as rustic, mid-century modern. Mid-century modern is my favorite design era and I love the new trend of industrial living, so mixing the two is where my heart really lies.
I pull inspiration from architectural features, antiques, artwork, and nature, but basically, I believe that anything you see, feel, taste, hear, or smell can become inspiration.
I am fairly new to this business but have already made some great connections with my clients. I love the diversity of the people I get to work with and each person's uniqueness that then contributes to the outcome of the design process. I especially love working with clients that aren’t afraid of color and want to do something different in a space. PerLora has a vast array of options to help our clients find the perfect piece that they will love for the next 20+ years.
RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL?
I prefer residential more because I like the personalization that goes with it by creating the perfect space for clients to relax and live in.
MORE ABOUT GABBI
I graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design in 2016. And before that I grew up in a small town about 10 minutes from Hersheypark. I chose Pittsburgh to continue my education since I am an avid Steelers fan. My favorite part of being an Interior Designer is space planning and then coordinating fabrics and colors tomake my client’s needs and desires for their room a reality.
I started my career at PerLora in the Fall of 2015 as an intern and then was hired as the Operations Assistant where I assisted with pricing, ordering, inventory control and store operations. Helping in the daily operations of the store was truly a benefit because I now know our inventory and product details like the back of my hand.
And now as a Designer I use that product knowledge to find my clients the perfect piece that fits all of their needs. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, repurposing antiques, doodling, DIY projects, hiking, and exploring Pittsburgh.
